This policy explains what acousticwoodshed.com collects, why, and what happens to it. It describes how the site works today; if that changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
What is collected
Messages you send. The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. That information is sent by email and is used only to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list, and it is not sold or passed to anyone else.
Server logs. Like any web server, this one records requests — your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser you used. These logs exist so the site can be kept working and secure, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
Comments. Comments are switched off site-wide, so nothing is collected that way.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies if you log in to the site — which, unless you are the person running it, you will not be doing.
Third parties
Affiliate links. Some links to products are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, this site may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The retailer — most often Amazon — will know that you arrived from here, and their own privacy policy governs what happens after that.
Analytics and advertising. No analytics service and no advertising network is currently running on this site. If either is added, this page will be updated to name it and to say what it collects before it goes live.
Hosting. The site runs on a private server hosted with DigitalOcean. They necessarily process the traffic that reaches it.
How long things are kept
Contact form messages are kept as long as they are useful for correspondence and are deleted when they are not. Server logs rotate automatically and are kept for a short period.
Your choices
You can ask what information about you is held here, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address on the contact page and it will be handled. Because this site collects so little, most such requests amount to deleting an email thread.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
